Royal Priesthood

"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."

The Royal Priesthood is not just ministers, pastors or clergy. It is YOU. It is each of us. We are all a spark of Divine Spirit, beautifully and miraculously manifested into human form. If God is love, we are love, and I hold this to be true. To love ourselves and each other is to act as God would have us behave, to connect with and in accordance with our true divine nature. In Buddhism it is called the "Buddha Nature". In Taoism it is the "Way of Heaven".
Let's start with the head of the Royal Family, God. You can think of God as a Higher Power, Universal God-Mind or Infinite Intelligence, The Universe, Infinite Creator, Holy or Divine Spirit, Christ-Consciousness, Eternal Source, Tao, Father/Mother God or even Love.
“Then God said, ‘Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us.’ ... So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
- Genesis 1:26-27
Right off the bat, "Let us make" implies plural. Just like parents. We were made in God's image, male and female. This is why we say "Father/Mother" God. Father implies strength and protection, whereas Mother implies nurturing and loving. In the original Hebrew text God is referred to as Elohim, which means Gods.
So don't let the pronouns throw you off. God has no gender. Divine Creator Spirit embodies both masculine and feminine energy. God is not a white old man with a beard sitting on a throne up in the sky. God is Eternal Spirit and dwells in each of us. WE ARE the "Kingdom of Heaven"!
Each of us is a member of the Royal Family, all connected. All important. No one better than another. Our value does not depend on anything external. Looking down on others or seeing anyone as less, comes from ego, not truth, and certainly not love. Our value is simply we exist as children of God. We all each Kings and Queens by birthright.
Your whole life is the sacrament. Your body is the temple and altar. God is within and there to guide you with that still quiet voice we call a conscience, intuition and discernment.
"Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it."

"Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?"

"On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you."

We are Christ-Consciousness in physical form. We embody the Infinite Spirit and nature of our Divine Creator.
Yes, we are all part of God and a Royal Family. For distinction, we are not God individually. We are part of God and contain God's Spirit. We are One with God, each other and all creation.
The challenge in this Earthly realm is to realize all the material distractions that society deems important, are just smoke and mirrors. Tricks of the mind. Illusion. Trying to one up, "keep up with the Jones", feel worthy, important or valued based on accumulations. It is a false sense of self, much of it based in marketing so someone else can make money off others by creating a desire and adding importance to things that are not inherent.
Though prayer and meditation, we discover what is truly valuable. Here is the secret, it isn't anything money can buy. Money is nice, but can't buy happiness, love, peace, serenity and self esteem. Money and material things feeds the ego and greed. That is why you see so many people amassing more and more and more and never feeling satisfied. It's as if they are trying to fill a bottomless pit. They are empty. Because they are disconnected from the Holy Spirit that is within them.
Once you realize the truth and wake up, it will set you free! This is how you are called out of darkness and into the Light, by learning spiritual truths that will transform your life. Plug into Spirit, into your divine nature and let it guide you. Discover how rich life can be when you focus on what is really worthy of your time, attention and resources. Prioritize accordingly. That doesn't mean you shouldn't have money or nice things, it means the pursuit of it doesn't control you or define you. It means redefining prosperity. Read that again, several times if needed.
The wealth of love, peace, prosperity and happiness are found in your heart, mind and relationships. When you live from a heart-centered mindset, all you need will come to you and will fall into place. You will discover what is actually important and meaningful in your life. And you will be content. The Universe has unlimited abundance. Enough for everyone to tap into. So change the scarcity mindset to one of grateful abundance and watch the miracles roll in!
You don't have to prove yourself to anyone. Certainly not by what you own. All you need is within you, right now. You are free to pursue real happiness that comes from a deeper spiritual connection with yourself, your inner world, experiences and your relationships with others.
So straighten your crown, know you already matter, already are valuable, already are worthy, good enough and are Royalty!
