"Metaphysical Messages"

In the New Thought or Metaphysical Science philosophy, we believe that our mind and Spirit play an important role in healing both spiritually and physically.
"Spiritual healing or health maintenance is possible through the practice of spiritual science. We do not oppose medical science and prefer to work with it spiritually for the health of people."
- Dr. Paul Leon Masters
Healing is accomplished by the affirmation of Oneness with God. Divinely attuned thought is a positive force for good and healing. At the heart of this belief is that right-thinking promotes a healing effect.
Certain studies have shown that positive thinking and prayer play a role in the improvement and outcomes of illness and recovery. Studies with placebos are a great example how belief has a healing effect when medication was not administered. Many believers, as I do, think that the healing Spirit of God within plays a much greater role than is given credit by medical science.
I still go to the doctor, take vitamins and medications as a supplement to my faith in God for my healing. I affirm thankfulness for my healing and gratitude in advance and in anticipation that healing will come. Then again after healing, I give thanks. In my ongoing affirmations I affirm good health. I meditate on Oneness with God, the Universe and all of Creation. God made everything and is the life-giving, creative Force in all. God heals!
By visualizing perfect health, healing and expecting a good result, you are sending those positive thought forms into the world. I believe it increases the speed and degree of healing people experience. And can even prevent much illness.
If you have an illness, you can lay hands on yourself daily and say "Thank you for my healing." In a state of meditation imagine a white healing light of peace and love radiating from your chest, surrounding and filling your entire being.
Have you noticed people that constantly complain about illness always seem to have things wrong with their health? They are affirming sickness. They are usually not in a good place emotionally or mentally either.
In the same sense some people criticize, complain, find fault, worry and stress out to the point that they make themselves sick, even physically. This is not to undermine serious mental illness and depression. Those who need to seek mental health professionals should absolutely do so without any shame. Some issues are biological requiring medication. However situational mental states can be overcome and are not permanent issues. You can also decrease your chances of getting into these states by thinking positive and living in a way that promotes love and peace, both for yourself and others. Find and focus on the good in life, about yourself and in others. You will usually find what you look for.
It is also important to rest. When you don't get enough rest you can get run down. And if you are sick rest is also important to speed healing. Sometimes when sick physically you can slow down enough to learn something your Spirit was trying to tell you.
Buddha said "Our body and mind have the capacity to heal themselves if we allow them to rest. Stopping, calming, and resting are preconditions for healing."
Along with rest your body needs healthy food and exercise as you are able. Always consult your doctor. If you pray and meditate daily it will also fight illness by bringing calm, peace and serenity to your Spirit. A peaceful life is good for your mental and physical health.
Of course people get sick and sometimes need medication and medical care. However when it happens it is better to affirm your healing and see it as passing and temporary. Without blame. Medication and doctors are blessings from God. It is good to be grateful for both.
Many people can and do experience miraculous healings. And yet we do not live forever on Earth. We do not always understand the timing or reasons why things happen. It may not make sense or seem fair. But I believe this human experience gives us much to learn just by living and experiencing this physical body that temporarily houses our Spirit. The end or death is not the end. Our souls are returned to God as we are manifestations of Spirit.
"Nor will it die. Beyond cause and effect, This Self is eternal and immutable. When the body dies, the Self does not die."
- Katha Upanishad (Hinduism)
The Bible supports a belief in faith and healing.
In three Bible verses, Jesus healed people and told them “your faith has made you well" in Luke 17:11-19, Matthew 9:20-22, and Mark 10:46-52. Jesus healed many and said his disciples would heal and do greater things than these in John 14:12.
'But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,' declares the Lord."
- Jeremiah 30:17
"Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me."
- Psalm 30:2
“Then your light will break out like the dawn, And your recovery will speedily spring forth; And your righteousness will go before you; The glory of the Lord will be your rear guard."
- Isaiah 58:8
"Behold, I will bring to it health and healing, and I will heal them; and I will reveal to them an abundance of peace and truth."
- Jeremiah 33:6
Go in love and peace. I give you an Irish Blessing: "May you live a long life full of gladness and health, with a pocket full of gold as the least of your wealth. May the dreams you hold dearest be those which come true, and the kindness you spread keep returning to you."
God bless you, have a great week and Namaste.
